Project Manager
Good project management keeps everything together.

CFE Finland Oy is looking for a Project Manager for demanding energy and electrical infrastructure projects.
In this role, you will manage projects on behalf of the client where grid connections, substations, overhead lines, BESS, renewable energy, data centre electrical infrastructure and construction come together as one integrated project.
We are looking for someone who can keep the technical scope, schedule, costs, contracts, risks and the work of multiple parties aligned throughout the project.
This is not a purely administrative Project Manager role. You do not need to be a deep technical expert in every discipline, but you need to understand the technical environment well enough to lead the project, identify the key issues and bring in the right specialists at the right time.
CFE acts as an independent owner-side technical advisor in energy and electrical infrastructure projects. As a Project Manager, you will work close to the client's decision-making and lead the project from the owner's perspective.
-
Depending on the project and your experience, you may work as the client's Project Manager, Construction Project Manager or lead a broader technical project scope.
Your responsibilities may include, for example:
defining project objectives, scope and delivery model
managing engineering, procurement and construction
developing, monitoring and controlling the project schedule
managing costs, forecasts and changes
managing project risks and technical interfaces
preparing tender documents, tendering processes and procurements
coordinating designers, contractors and other suppliers
managing contractual matters and changes
preparing matters for client decision-making and maintaining an up-to-date project overview
leading project meetings and other key project management practices
coordinating site activities and project execution
preparing commissioning and project handover.
The scope of the role varies depending on the project. In some projects, you may be involved from the early engineering and procurement stages, while in others the focus may be on construction and site execution.
-
We are looking for someone with practical experience in energy, electrical, industrial, infrastructure or construction projects who has already taken responsibility for managing projects or significant project scopes.
Your background may be in owner's engineering, consulting, engineering and design, contracting, an equipment supplier, a grid company, industry or project development.
We particularly value experience in projects where multiple technical disciplines, suppliers and contractual interfaces come together.
You have the ability to:
build an overall picture even when information is still incomplete
identify the key risks and dependencies within a project
drive decisions forward rather than simply follow their progress
coordinate designers, specialists and contractors
communicate effectively with both technical specialists and client management
keep schedule, costs and technical scope aligned within the same project overview.
We work with Finnish and international clients, so fluent Finnish and English are required for the role.
Experience in the following is considered an advantage:
substation or overhead line projects
BESS or renewable energy projects
data centre or industrial electrical infrastructure
110–400 kV environments
working in an owner's representative or Owner's Engineer role
YSE, KSE or other demanding contractual environments
procurement and tendering
construction and commissioning phases
international projects.
You do not need to know everything from day one. What matters more is that you already have experience managing demanding project scopes and are ready to take responsibility for moving the project forward.

You lead projects close to the owner's decision-making
CFE works as the client's technical advisor and as part of the owner's project organisation. As a Project Manager, you will actively contribute to developing solutions, preparing decisions and steering the project forward.
Technical content stays close
A Project Manager does not need to solve every technical detail personally, but technical questions are not separated from project management either.
Our projects bring together specialists in grid connections, substations, overhead lines, BESS, site supervision and safety. Together with them, you will manage the interfaces that connect the different parts of the project.
You see the whole project
Your involvement may begin with feasibility studies and procurement preparation and continue through engineering, construction, commissioning and handover.
You will see how decisions made early in the project affect later execution, costs and schedules.
You can influence how projects are managed
CFE operates in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, and we continuously develop our ways of working.
In addition to project delivery, you can contribute to developing our project management, procurement, risk management and other operating practices, while supporting and sparring with the rest of the team.
You get responsibility, but you won't work alone
At CFE, Project Managers have clear responsibility for their projects. At the same time, technical specialists, site supervisors and the wider project team are close by and available whenever the project needs them.
