Junior Project Engineer
See how major projects come together from the very beginning of your career.

CFE Finland Oy is looking for an early-career Project Engineer to join our energy and electrical infrastructure projects.
The role is suitable for a recently graduated electrical engineer or someone who has already gained some practical work experience.
At CFE, a Project Engineer is not limited to a single technical task or a project administration support role. You will work on real client projects and see how a project develops from the first technical solutions through engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning into a completed system.
You do not need to have a defined specialisation on your first day. You will have the opportunity to take on more responsibility as your skills and experience grow.
-
You will work alongside Project Managers and technical specialists in a variety of project tasks.
Your responsibilities may include, for example:
compiling, reviewing and commenting on engineering documentation
coordinating engineering activities and technical project matters
preparing tender documentation and procurement materials
participating in project meetings and following up agreed actions
maintaining schedules, action lists and an up-to-date project overview
preparing technical studies and comparisons
managing project documentation and handover materials
collaborating with clients, designers, grid operators, contractors and equipment suppliers
participating in site visits and inspections and supporting projects during construction
depending on the project, carrying out technical engineering and calculation tasks.
Your responsibilities will grow with your experience. At first, you will work with support from more experienced specialists, with the aim of gradually taking responsibility for your own project scopes.

We are looking for an early-career engineering professional.
You may have:
a Master's or Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or another relevant technical field
studies that are close to completion or a completed degree
internship, summer job or thesis experience in an energy, electrical, industrial or infrastructure environment
a few years of experience in areas such as engineering and design, project work, construction sites or a grid company.
Previous work experience is not the most important selection criterion.
What we value most is a solid technical foundation, willingness to learn, the ability to find out and understand new things, and an interest in seeing not only the individual task but also the wider project around it. You will also need the ability to work systematically, communicate with others and follow agreed actions through to completion.
We work with Finnish and international clients and partners, so Finnish and English language skills are required for the role.

You get involved in diverse projects
CFE acts as an independent owner-side technical advisor in projects where multiple technical disciplines, engineering, procurement, construction and grid operator interfaces come together.
In this role, you will get to see early in your career how a major project actually comes together and how different decisions affect one another. As your skills and experience grow, you will take responsibility for your own project scopes.
You learn alongside experienced specialists
You will work with Project Managers and specialists in grid connections, substations, overhead lines, site supervision and other technical disciplines. Depending on the project, you may be involved in procurement preparation, client discussions, project meetings, site activities, inspections and commissioning.
You will receive support and feedback from more experienced specialists while gradually taking on more responsibility.
You have several directions in which to develop your career
The Project Engineer role is not a predefined career track.
As you gain experience, you can develop according to your strengths and interests towards technical specialist roles, grid connections, substation or BESS projects, project management, engineering coordination or site-based roles.
You work from the owner's perspective
CFE acts as an independent owner-side technical advisor. We do not sell equipment or construction contracts.
This means that even early in your career, you will learn to evaluate technical alternatives not only from an engineering perspective but also in terms of project costs, schedule, risks and feasibility.
You can influence how the work is done
CFE operates in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, and we continuously develop our ways of working.
We also value the perspectives and ideas of early-career professionals. In your work, you will have the opportunity to use and develop digital project tools, documentation practices and new ways of working.
